The Brock Badgers men's wrestling team competed in Toronto. 

Members of the Badgers took part in the TMU Open hosted by Toronto Metrpolitan University on Sunday, Nov. 10. 

As a team, Brock placed third overall with 24 points, just two points away from the second-place finishing Western Mustangs (26).

The star of the tournament was Yazdan Farokhizad who won his second gold medal of the season; this time doing it in the 100-kilogram division. 

Farokhizad defeated Thomas Rousseau of the University of Alberta in the final by technical fall 10-0. He was perfect on the day, winning all matches by technical fall. 

In the 68kg division, Mason Mastroianni battled all the way to the finals where he eventually fell to fellow Brock Wrestling Club member Carlos Vargas by technical fall 10-0. 

Mastroianni won his three previous matches all by technical fall to get to the championship match.

Matteo Romano (57kg) made it all the way to the final as well, winning all three previous matches by technical fall. 

The final saw Romano drop a 10-0 technical fall loss to Treye Trotman of the Western Mustangs. 

Finishing fourth in the 68kg weight class, Gabriel Blanchette settled for a 5-2 record on the day. 

Up next, the Badgers will travel to Toronto for the York Open on Saturday, Nov. 16.
