Badgers pull off remarkable upset win over No. 2 Gee-Gees

The Badgers remain undefeated with their fifth straight win to start the season.

A thrilling game for the Brock women's basketball team ended in a 58-56 win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday, Nov. 15 at Bob Davis Gymnasium.

Leading the Badgers in points was Angeline Campbell, who recorded a double-double with 18 points and ten assists.

Oluwatito Akinnusi recorded five rebounds, which was tied for a Badger-high. Ava Stranges and Madalyn Weinert also both notched five rebounds in the game.

Brock started off strong scoring 17 points in the opening quarter, with Campbell leading the way with seven points of her own.

The Badgers showed their defensive prowess in the second quarter limiting the Gee-Gees to just eight points and taking a 34-22 lead into halftime.

In the third quarter, Ottawa showed fight cutting Brock's lead down to 47-41 heading into the final frame.

Despite a late push from the Gee-Gees, the Badgers held on, winning the game by two points and a score of 58-56.

The Badgers capitalized on Ottawa's 18 turnovers compared to eight of their own with 13 points off turnovers.

Up next, the Brock Badgers host the No. 6 Carleton Ravens at Bob Davis Gymnasium on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. The game will be live on OUA.tv.
