The Brock Badgers men's wrestling team saw two podium finishes in Toronto.
Competing in their third tournament weekend in a row, the Badgers took on the York Open on Saturday, Nov. 16.
In the team standings, the Badgers placed fourth with 24 points as they finished seven points behind the Brock Wrestling Club.
Callum Knox, last year's U SPORTS and Ontario University Athletics (OUA) gold medallist in the 100-kilogram category, captured his first gold medal of the season with a dominant showing.
Knox won all three of his matches by technical fall, finishing with a 46-10 point differential.
In the 125kg category, Roger Li placed second, earning his second medal of the season.
Li bested Anthony Fonte (Guelph Gryphons) and Ifeatu Melifonwu (Carleton Ravens) before taking an injury default loss to former Brock Badger and current Brock Wrestling Club member Richard DesChatelets.
Coming in fourth was Hamzah Al-Qayse who dropped the bronze medal match to Charlie Ortencio of the Western Mustangs by technical fall 14-4.
Rounding out the Badgers' performances were Mason Mastroianni (68kg), Ryan Lane (82kg), Acquiles Espindola (90kg) and Adrien Larocque (90kg).
Up next, the Badgers return back to Toronto for the U of T Open on Saturday, Nov. 30 for the last meet of 2024.
