Brock suffered a loss to Laurentian.
The Brock Badgers men's basketball team traveled to Sudbury on Saturday, Nov. 2 to take on the Laurentian Voyageurs where they lost 80-63 at the Ben Avery Gym.
Xavier Fearon and Anthony Heyes led the Badgers with 12 points each while Nemanja Sarkanovic had five assists
Fearon, Sarkanovic and Nils Gesmann each finished with six rebounds.
The Voyageurs had the hot hand in the opening quarter, knocking down five three-pointers as the Badgers trailed 25-17.
In the second quarter, Brock ran on a streak of their own, leading at one point, as they nailed four of nine attempted three-pointers. Despite this, they trailed 42-35 at halftime.
From there on, the Badgers had many self-inflicted wounds as turnovers forced by the Voyageurs' defence limited the Badgers' offence as they only scored 28 second-half points in the loss.
Laurentian led the game with a field-goal percentage of 40% to Brock's 38.3%.
The Badgers had a better display from behind the arc, knocking down 10 as opposed to the Voyageurs' seven.
Next, the Badgers look to bounce back as they travel to Robert J. Surtees Student Athletic Centre in North Bay to play against the Nipissing Lakers on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. The game will be available on OUA.tv. Last season, Brock beat Nipissing at Bob Davis Gym 95-67 on Feb. 17.
