Brock finished its two-game homestand off strong, beating two nationally ranked teams in the process.
The Brock Badgers women's hockey team secured a 2-1 win over the No. 8 nationally ranked Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Canada Games Park.Â
Madison Cronkwright and Hannah Ryan both found the scoresheet in the victory for Brock.Â
The opening frame was relatively quiet for both sides with the Badgers successfully killing off two penalties to see the first period end scoreless. Â
Searching for a lead in the second period, a Waterloo breakout attempt was stopped by Ryan before the fifth-year forward ripped a shot from the hash marks to see Brock go up 1-0 against the visitors. Â
After the Warriors tied the game early in the third, Cronkwright found the game-winning goal for Brock as the hosts held onto the 2-1 lead.
Kennedy Lonson had the start in goal for the Badgers, stopping 30 shots in the win.Â
The Badgers were outshot 31-21 by the Warriors.Â
