Brock battled in a close contest in Toronto.
The Brock Badgers women's hockey team came up just short against the TMU Bold, losing 3-2 in overtime on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
Madison Cronkwright scored both goals for the Badgers in the contest.
The opening period had a total of five penalties as TMU got on the board first on a goal from Kayla Kondo.
It was a much better second period from the Badgers as Cronkwright found the net twice to give Brock a 2-1 lead heading into the final frame.
Needing to find a goal to stay in the game, TMU relied on another goal from Kondo to tie things up and send the contest to overtime.
A little over a minute into overtime, the Bold found the game-winner on a 2-on-1 goal from Megan Breen.
Last week's Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athlete of the Week Kennedy Lonson stopped 30 shots in the overtime loss for the Badgers.
TMU piled on the shots with 33, besting Brock's 25 on net.
Next, the Brock Badgers host the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Canada Games Park at 6 p.m. You can secure your tickets at https://brocku.universitytickets.com/ or follow along on OUA.tv. Last time out, the Badgers fell 5-2 to the Ravens on Oct. 11, 2024 in Ottawa.
