The No. 10 Brock Badgers women's basketball team defeated the Laurier Golden Hawks by a score of 50-44 on Wednesday, Nov. 20.

Madalyn Weinert led the Badgers with 14 points and nine rebounds, with both categories being game-highs in the contest.
Olivia Fiorucci got things going for the Badgers, scoring a three-pointer 35 seconds into the game, setting the tone for the quarter. The host's strong defensive play allowed them to capitalize on the offensive end, giving them a 15-8 lead after 10 minutes.
The second quarter proved to be a much different game as the Badgers struggled from the field and allowed the Golden Hawks to go on 13-2 run, which resutled in the visitors catapulting themselves into a 21-17 lead at the halftime break.
Brock was able to solve their early offensive struggles in the second half as
Oluwatito Akinnusi contributed six points and Weinert beat the buzzer to propel the Badgers back into a 36-34 lead after three quarters.
The Badgers offensive efficiency carried into the fourth quarter, as they went on a 8-0 run to create some breathing room. The visitors battled back into the game, recording seven straight points of their own, but Brock was able to hold on for the hard-fought 50-44 victory.
