Badgers continue undefeated start to season with win over Lakers

Brock notched their third win in a row to begin the season.

On Sunday, Nov. 3, the Brock Badgers women's basketball team continued their road trip to northern Ontario where it claimed victory against the Nipissing Lakers 83-76 at the Robert J. Surtees Student Athletic Centre in North Bay.

Continuing her exceptional effort from last night, fourth-year guard/forward Madalyn Weinert led the Badgers in points with 25 as well as in rebounds with 15, recording her second double-double in as many days.

Fifth-year guard Angeline Campbell led Brock in assists with six and rebounds with eight, highlighting her dual-threat abilities on all sides of the floor.

The Badgers started off hot with 26 points in the first quarter and added to that with another 23 points in the second for 49 at the half and a 13-point lead.

Nipissing pushed back in the second half with 27 points in the third quarter to Brock's 11.

In the fourth quarter, Brock rallied after being down three points going on a 23-13 to clinch the win, with help from Campbell who scored six of the Badgers' points.

The Badgers and Lakers were even from beyond the arc with seven each, however, Nipissing was more efficient shooting 29.2% to Brock's 25%.

Up next, the Badgers return home from their two-game road trip to Bob Davis Gymnasium as they face the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. You can watch the game live on OUA.tv. Tickets are also available at brocku.universitytickets.com.

Last season, the Badgers clinched a 76-68 overtime win over the Warriors in Waterloo on Dec. 1, 2023.
