Brock suffered a heartbreaking defeat on Friday night.
The Brock Badgers men's hockey team fought hard but fell 3-2 to the TMU Bold on Friday, Nov. 8 at Canada Games Park.
Brock's goal scorers in the contest were
Holden Rogers and
Zack Stringer, each notching one.
Brock wasted no time finding the lead in the contest, as Stringer redirected a blue line shot from
Rylan Thiessen past TMU goaltender Kai Edmonds. Despite the strong start, the Badgers penalty troubles gave the Bold an opportunity on the man-advantage and they capitalized to bring the game level.
A five-on-three power play for the Badgers midway through the second frame allowed Rogers to find the back of the net and put his side back on top. The lead didn't last long for Brock, as TMU responded with a goal of their own just two minutes later to tie things up again.
After a back-and-forth third period, the Bold were able to break the deadlock, scoring on the power play with 44 seconds left in the frame to give them the eventual game-winner.
In his third-consecutive start, goaltender
Will Hambley made 29 saves in the contest.
The Bold possessed a slight edge over the Badgers on shots, putting up 32 to Brock's 25.
Up next, the Brock Badgers men's hockey team will travel to Guelph to take on the Guelph Gryphons on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2:30 p.m. These two teams have already met this season on Sunday, Oct. 27, where the Gryphons were victorious by a score of 2-1. Catch the action on
