Brock shows fight in close battle with Laurier

The Brock Badgers men's soccer team fought to the final whistle in their home opener.  

A late goal gave the Laurier Golden Hawks a 2-1 win at Alumni Field on Friday, Aug. 30.  

After falling behind early in the first half, the Brock Badgers pushed for an equalizer and controlled most of the chances in the second half.  

They were rewarded for their resilience as Sebastian Petrilli found the equalizer in the 72nd minute.  

Late in the match, Brock was given a penalty but was unable to convert.  

The Badgers outshot the Golden Hawks five to three and kept the ball in the final third for large spurts of the match.
