The Brock Badgers women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat on Friday, Sept. 20 to the Guelph Gryphons in Guelph.
Offensively, the Gryphons provided a lot of pressure, leading the shot department with 13 (10 shots on goal) to the Badgers' three (two shots on goal).
All four Guelph goals came from different players, with forward Olivia Rizakos having a team-high three shots on goal.
Fourth-year forwards Stefanie Young and Sabrina Bisante were the two Badgers who registered a shot on goal.
In the first half, the Badgers allowed two goals, one at the 20th minute and another at the 42nd minute mark of the game.
While in the second, the Gryphons added another two goals to solidify their lead.
The Badgers could not find a spark to help support second-year goaltender Shae Mitchell, who made six saves on ten shots. Four of her six saves came in the second half as she tried to keep the Badgers in the game.
Both the Badgers and Gryphons finished the game on a clean slate regarding fouls with no cards given to either side.
Up next, the Badgers return home to Alumni Field and look to bounce back and avoid the season sweep against the Gryphons on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
