The Brock women's rugby team used a complete performance to defeat the Trent Excalibur.
The monstrous offensive showing from the Badgers resulted in a big 58-15 scoreline on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Justin Chiu Stadium.
Hannah Tonet, a 2023 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Second Team All-Star, led the way for the Badgers, securing three scores in a dominant first half, leading the Badgers in scoring with 15 points from her three tries.
Brock put up a tremendous first half with Laura Brown, Abbie Wade, Jordan Smith and Jordyn Pitt each scoring a try.
With a commanding 41-0 lead coming out of the break, the Badgers scored on behalf of Paige DeNeve in the 42nd minute. DeNeve put up another strong game finishing with 13 points from her one try and four successful conversions.
Smith and Erika Bagshaw rounded off the scoring for the Badgers, putting the team up by a score of 58-0 with 30 minutes to play.
The Excalibur scored three tries of their own but failed to make a single conversion to finish with 15 points.
Up next for the Badgers, a visit to Warrior Field to face off against the currently ranked No.5 Waterloo Warriors on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. In their matchup last year on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, the Badgers blanked the Warriors by a score of 66-0.
