The Brock Badgers women's soccer team put up a strong defensive effort against the No. 4 Western Mustangs.
In the draw, the Badgers kept the Mustangs away from the scoresheet and recorded their first clean sheet of the season on Sunday, Sept. 8 in London.
Shae Mitchell recorded eight saves in the match, which is Mitchell's second-highest save total of the season so far. The second-year goalkeeper made two back-to-back saves in the 87th minute to keep Western from taking the lead.
Cerrina Toromoreno was Brock's lone yellow card recipient, while Thalia Lewis recorded a yellow card for Western.
The Mustangs had 16 shots to the Badger's five.
Next, the Brock Badgers women's soccer team returns to Alumni Field to face the Algoma Thunderbirds on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. The Badgers faced the Thunderbirds twice during the 2023 season, winning 2-1 on Sept. 30 and 9-0 on Oct. 1.
