Brock were unable to hold on to their 3-1 lead, falling to the TMU Bold to open 2025.
The Brock Badgers men's hockey team were bested by the Bold by a score of 4-3 on Friday, Jan. 10 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto.
Jonah Boria, Jordan Stock and Zack Stringer each scored once for the Badgers while Ryan Stepien notched two assists.
In an exciting first frame, TMU opened the scoring just under a minute in. However, Brock overcame the deficit with Stock and Stringer each scoring a goal.
Brock and TMU each scored once in the second period, with the Badgers scoring first taking a 3-1 lead and the Bold answering back on the power play to cut the lead to one.
TMU would take the lead and hold on 4-3 with two quick third period goals, including stopping Stepien on a late penalty shot with just two seconds remaining.
On top of Stephen's two assists, Riley Gannon, Holden Rogers, Ryan Thompson each registered an assist for Brock.
Brock led in the shots department with 36 to TMU's 30.
Badgers' goalie Samuel Vyletelka made 26 saves in the game.
Up next, the Badgers remain in Toronto to face the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. The game is available to watch on OUA.tv. Last time out, Brock fell earlier this season to Toronto at Canada Games Park by a score of 4-0.
