Lakehead took down Brock in a matchup of nationally ranked teams.
The No. 10 Brock Badgers men's basketball team fell 88-70 against the No. 9 Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday, Jan. 31 at Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Davanté Hackett led the Badgers in points with 17 while Nathan Charles and Jalen Edwards grabbed a Brock-high eight rebounds.
In a highly contested opening quarter between the two ranked sides, Brock earned a 26-21 lead, with Nemanja Sarkanovic leading the way with six points.
Lakehead took the lead late in the first half before Hackett knocked down a three-pointer and a layup with an ensuing free-throw to put Brock up 47-45.
A strong opening second half for the visiting Thunderwolves saw them grab a 66-58 lead heading into the fourth and final frame.
Building on their lead, Lakehead went 6-7 from the free-throw line and 7-12 in the paint in the fourth quarter to earn a victory on the road and end Brock's 10-game wining streak.
Lakehead led in the field-goal percentage category, besting Brock's 37.1 with a percentage of 42.9.
