Four members of the Brock Badgers men's soccer team have earned Ontario University Athletics (OUA) All-Star honours.
The OUA announced their list of major award winners and all-stars for men's soccer on Thursday, Oct. 30.
Ethan Miskolczi was among the top recipients being named an OUA First Team All-Star, while Luca Danesi, Tiago Pereira and Gabriel Tardif were all honoured as OUA Second Team All-Stars.
"It's a proud moment for our program to have multiple players recognized as OUA all-stars," said head coach Jordan Cardinale. "These selections reflect not only the individual quality and commitment of our athletes, but also the collective growth of the group and the direction we're moving as a program. More than anything, it's a testament to their daily standards and dedication."
All four players were named all-stars for the first time, this marks the most all-star selections for the program since 2007.
Miskolczi, a fifth-year defender, started all 12 games and was a key contributor in a Badgers' backline that conceded the third-fewest goals in the OUA. The Welland, Ont., native has made huge strides in his development over the past year, fearlessly matching up against the OUA's top attacking threats with great poise. The Kinesiology major's vocal leadership and personal dedication helped the Badgers earn a third-place finish in the OUA West division as well as an appearance in the OUA quarterfinals.

Making his mark as one of the top attacking threats in the OUA, Danesi was a key contributor, starting all 12 games for the Badgers. The fourth-year forward finished with five goals, ranking him 10th in the OUA and five assists, which placed him sixth. The Binbrook, Ont., native delivered in key moments, scoring game-winning goals in both matchups against the Algoma Thunderbirds on Aug. 30 and 31, and another against the Western Mustangs on Sept. 19.

Establishing himself as a workhorse in the Badgers' backline, Pereira's ability to impact the game both offensively and defensively was recognized by the conference. Making 12 starts for the Badgers, the Sport Management major scored a game-winning goal against the Laurier Golden Hawks on Sept. 7 and added another on Sept. 21 against the Windsor Lancers. Over the course of the season, the Woodbridge, Ont., native showed strong ability to break up plays, while also contributing higher up the field.

After winning last year's men's soccer Emerging Badger award, Tardif now earns his first OUA all-star selection. After gaining professional experience with the Canadian Premier League's (CPL) Atlético Ottawa, the Hammond, Ont., native became the core of the Badgers' midfield, helping dictate the pace of the game, while also linking plays and driving the team's attack. The second-year Business major also showcased his abilities as a goal scorer. In nine starts, Tardif notched two goals, including one against the Laurier Golden Hawks on Sept. 7 and another against the Waterloo Warriors on Sept. 14.
