Brock was defeated 78-52 against TMU.
On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Brock Badgers women's basketball team played against the No. 9 TMU Bold at home at Bob Davis Gymnasium in St. Catharines.
Fourth-year forward Madalyn Weinert recorded 25 points and seven rebounds.
Neither team was able to attain a comfortable lead in the opening frame, however, the Bold used strong offensive rebounding to lead 17-14 after one.
Strong rim protection with four blocks as well as six three-pointers from TMU was the difference in the second quarter as the Bold held a 42-22 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Badgers battled hard with Weinert recording 10 points in the quarter. Despite her contributions, Brock continued to trail 60-35 through three.
In the final frame, TMU kept their foot on the gas and kept finding ways to add to their lead to secure a win.
TMU led the field-goal percentage department with 42.4. per cent as opposed to Brock's 33.9 per cent.
Next up, the Badgers travel to Hamilton on Saturday, Feb. 8, to take on the McMaster Marauders at Burridge Gymnasium with the game scheduled to start at noon.
