Head coach Steve Delaney has restocked the Brock women's volleyball team with the addition of six exciting recruits.
Tatiana Drozd, Victoria George, Anna Minyaylo, Jenna Peters, Campbell Phaneuf and Abby Whittington were announced as the newest Badgers on Thursday, July 10.
"The 2025-26 class is an interesting one for us as it will provide us with a little bit of depth in ball control and serve receive as well as some stability and blocking at the net," Delaney said. "The hope is that these athletes become key pieces for us in the future, and we're proud to have them as part of our program."
Drozd is a 5-10 outside hitter and defensive specialist who is coming to the Badgers from Etobicoke, Ont.
She has represented Team Ontario indoors and, on the beach, is a two-time national silver medallist and an 18U gold medallist.
In the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) indoor club circuit, Drozd has played for three different clubs: the Etobicoke Titans (11U-13U), Leaside Volleyball Club (14U-15U), and most recently, the Halton Hurricanes (16U-18U).
"I chose Brock University for its amazing volleyball program, strong coaching and competitive opportunities," Drozd said. "I Iove the location as it's close to home and a great campus environment, and I was attracted by the exceptional Concurrent Education program and its reputation."

George, a 5-11 middle, is another student-athlete who will be enrolling in the Concurrent Education program at the University.
With her club, Defensa, the Oakville, Ont., native won two national championships (15U - 2022, 16U - 2023).
George was also named a captain of her volleyball team at St. Ignatius of Loyola and played multiple sports including badminton and field hockey, where she was named a captain.
"I chose Brock University because it offers the perfect balance of strong academics, a supportive community and a high-level varsity volleyball program," George said. "As someone who is passionate about becoming a teacher, I was drawn to Brock's Concurrent Education program, as there is early classroom experience and the opportunity to earn two degrees at once."

Hoping to fortify the right side of the net, the Badgers will look to Minyaylo, a 6-2 opposite from Mississauga, Ont, who has experience playing for Team Ontario on the beach volleyball court.
In four seasons with the Titans Volleyball Club, Minyaylo received the OVA Aawrd of Excellence twice in 2022 and 2024, while most recently, she played for the Defensa Volleyball Club.
At St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Secondary School, the future Accounting major won three Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) girls volleyball championship titles while capturing an Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations AAA girls volleyball championship during the 2024-25 season.
"From the moment I met the team, the girls were so friendly and supportive, making me feel like I was already part of the family," Minyaylo said. "It's an environment that's both competitive and full of teamwork, which is exactly what I'm looking for, and it's the perfect place for me to grow as both a student and an athlete."

The only transfer in the class is Peters, a 5-11 setter, who spent four seasons with the Toronto Varsity Blues from 2020-2024.
With the Varsity Blues, Peters was named a two-time Academic All-Canadian, and she won an OUA silver medal and finished fifth in the nation during the 2021-22 season.
Prior to her university career, she played club volleyball with the Halton Hurricanes where she won two national gold medals (2018, 2019) and an OFSAA AAA title and MVP award during the 2019-20 season with the Dr Frank J. Hayden Huskies.
"I chose to attend Brock University to pursue its distinctive Master of Applied Gerontology program," Peters said. "After speaking with a professor during the Fall Preview Day, I became intrigued by the program and felt it was the right next step for me after completing my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience."

Another outside hitter wearing the Brock red this fall will be Phaneuf, a 5-11 Chatham-Kent, Ont., product.
After spending her 12U to 18U seasons with the local club, the Chatham Ballhawks, Phaneuf played her extra year of club with the South County Bandits.
At Ursuline College Chatham, the incoming Forensics Psychology and Criminal Justice major, went to the OFSAA AAA Championships with her father as a coach as the team finished tied for fifth overall.
"A large part of picking Brock was the player coach relationships," Phaneuf said. "It was clear to me when I went down for my visit that Steve (Delaney) has great relationships with all of his players."

Delaney's last recruit is Whittington, a 5-7 libero from Carlisle, Ont., who has a long standing tenure with the Halton Hurricanes.
Having spent eight seasons starting in 11U with the Hurricanes program, Whittington is the only athlete that has been able to achieve that feat and has gained experience with a consistent Top 10 volleyball club in the province and country.
At Thomas A. Blakelock High School, she played up on the senior team in Grades 9 and 10. In her final season, Whittington helped lead the Tigers to an OFSAA AA championship in 2022-23 and served as team captain in her final high school season.
"When I was growing up I always loved attending men and women's volleyball games with my family and friends," Whittington said. "It was definitely a highlight of my Friday nights as I always imagined myself playing at that level."

These new recruits will be joining a team that is coming off a fourth consecutive season hosting the OUA Quigley Cup Final and one that is looking to make their way back to the provincial final for the sixth straight season.
