Chris Yeboah (Woodbridge, Ont.) of the men's soccer team and Sierra Thompson (Brantford, Ont.) of the women's rugby team have been named the Brock University Athletes of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 7.

Yeboah, a second-year Psychology major, scored two goals during Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks. In that matchup, Yeboah came on in the fifth minute and made an impressive impact, evening the score at 1-1 in the 33rd minute. The centre back was not done there as he found the back of the net again in the 63rd minute to tie the score at 2-2, completing his birthday brace. Yeboah also played 62 minutes during Friday's 1-1 draw, and he tallied five interceptions and eight ball recoveries over the course of two games during the weekend.

During her impressive home debut on Saturday, Thompson scored her first Ontario University Athletics (OUA) try in the 59th minute as the Badgers defeated the Trent Excalibur in convincing fashion 114-0. She then followed it up with three straight unanswered tries in the 64th, 69th and 71st minutes. The first-year Kinesiology student totaled 20 points off the bench within 12 minutes of play, finishing with the second most points on the team. Thompson also showcased her versatile skill set and effectiveness, going 100% in the lineout.
