Following the conclusion of the Guelph Open, the Brock Badgers women's wrestling team keeps their spot No. 3 while the men's side continues to be ranked No. 1.

Competing in the final tournament before the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Championships, the women's team delivered a strong showing at the Guelph Open on Saturday, Jan. 24, finishing second overall and collecting three gold medals.
Mia Friesen won gold in the 57-kilogram event over Gabi Cross, last year's national champion in the 56kg weight class, to earn her third first-place finish of the year. Joining Friesen at the top of the podium were Francesca Lo Greco (55kg) and Cassie Corbett (72kg).
Rounding out their medal results was Claudia Landry (83kg) who won her third-place match by fall.
The 10-time defending OUA champions head to Alumni Hall in London, Ont., for the OUA Championships on Saturday, Feb. 7.

In every edition of the Wrestling Canada Lutte Top 10 Rankings, the Brock Badgers men's wrestling team has been a fixture at the very top.
The recent Guelph Open on Saturday saw the Badgers finish second overall and the men's side capturing two medals.
Winning bronze for the fifth time this season, Javier Tonita-Charriez defeated Zakir Ibrahimkheil (Brock WC) in the third-place match in the 57kg event. Roger Li won his only competed match and settled for silver in the 125kg weight class after defaulting in the finals.
The OUA Championships await the Badgers as they hunt for their 10th straight provincial title. The one-day tournament takes place in London, Ont., at Alumni Hall on Saturday, Jan. 28.
