The Brock Badgers men's soccer team have concluded their regular season with a loss to the Guelph Gryphons.
Â
Under the lights at Alumni Field on Friday, Oct. 16, where Brock highlighted their senior class, the Badgers fell 1-0 to a stoppage time winner.
Â
Despite outshooting their opponents 9-8 throughout the contest, Brock was unable to make the most of their scoring opportunities, with Guelph's goalkeeper making four saves throughout the night.
Â
With the game still squared up late, Guelph headed home a corner goal in the first minute of stoppage time, leaving the Badgers without much time to respond.
Â
Second-year goalkeeper
Nikola Neskovic made five saves across the match.
Â
With the result, the Badgers finish the regular season with 15 points and a record of 5-7. As OUA regular season action wraps up this weekend, Brock will have to wait and see if their points tally will be enough to advance to the playoffs.
Â
The Badgers currently sit in the final playoff spot, a point ahead of the Laurier Golden Hawks who will travel to Guelph to take on the Gryphons for their final game of the season on Sunday, Oct. 18.
