Badgers unable to close out regular season with a win

The Brock Badgers women's soccer team were unable to hand No. 5 nationally ranked Guelph Gryphons their first loss of the season.

As they honoured their seniors before what would be their final OUA regular season match, Brock fell 1-0 to Guelph in a clash under the lights at Alumni Field on Friday, Oct. 16.

The current West No. 1 seeded Gryphons notched the only goal of the contest in the opening minutes to give them a lead that they would relinquish.

Fifth-year forward Jenna Parris and first-year midfielder Jasmine Baines came closest to equalizing throughout the contest, with both Badgers forcing saves from the opposition's goalkeeper.

In her season debut, Emiliana Foster stopped seven of the eight shots that came her way in the Brock goal.

Having previously picked up four wins and a draw in their five matches in front of their home fans this season, the loss marks Brock's first at home this season. This result puts an end to a remarkable regular season in which the Badgers recorded nine more points than they did in 2025.

With the regular season now in the books, the Badgers will await to find out their opponents in the first round of the OUA playoffs. The match will be scheduled on Wednesday, Oct. 21, with a time still to be determined and can be seen on OUA.tv.
