The Brock Badgers women's basketball team have tasted defeat for the first time this season.
Â
Touching down at Bob Davis Gymnasium for the first time this campaign on Friday, Oct. 30., the Badgers were outlasted by the reigning OUA champions by a score of 74-40.
Â
Niagara Falls native
Vienna Vercesi finished as the Badgers top scorer with 12 points, with first-year guard
Hailey Fennema providing offensive support with nine points of her own to go along with four rebounds.
Â
Brock got out the gates the hotter of the two teams, thanks in large part to their electric home crowd. Fennema finished the opening 10 minutes with seven points as the hosts shot 4-7 from behind the three point line, taking a 19-13 lead into the second quarter.
Â
The nationally ranked Bold bounced back throughout the second quarter, finding their rhythm to take a 38-23 lead into the halftime break.
Â
Despite the Badgers best efforts, they were unable to stop TMU's growing momentum, as the Bold continued to build on their lead throughout the second half.
Â
Brock will have a chance for an immediate bounce back at home, as the Toronto Varsity Blues arrive at Bob Davis Gymnasium for a Halloween afternoon clash on Saturday, Oct. 31., at 4 p.m. Tickets for the game are available for purchase on
University Tickets, while the game can also be seen on
