The Brock Badgers baseball team is set to compete for provincial gold this weekend as they host the OUA Championships from Friday, Oct. 9., to Sunday, Oct. 11.
Â
The Badgers enter as OUA West No. 1 seed, having finished their regular season with an 11-3 record that includes an impressive 6-0 home record. The hosts are joined by the defending champions and the OUA East No. 1 seed Toronto Varsity Blues, along with Queen's Geals, Laurier Golden Hawks, Carleton Ravens, and Waterloo Warriors.
Â
Brock thrived at limiting runs throughout the regular season, with first-year pitcher
Max Burroughsford leading a strong pitching staff that consistently kept opposing offenses off-balance. The hurler logged an ERA under 2.00 and a WHIP under 1.00, while
Max Van Dam provided support in relief with a sub-2.00 ERA of his own.
Â
Offensively, the Badgers have displayed a balanced approach of power and consistency at the place. In his first year with the team, outfielder
Josh Frazer has been a constant threat, leading the Badgers in home runs and RBI, while registering an OPS above 1.000. He is joined by veteran
Brady Campbell who led the team in hits with a batting average above .300.
Â
Having qualified for the OUA championships last season through the OUA West Regional Qualifier, the Badgers will look to avenge their loss to the Waterloo Warriors in last year's bronze medal game.
Â
The Badgers will get their slate of games started on Friday, Oct. 9., at 2 p.m., where they host the winner of the game between Queen's and Waterloo at Welland Stadium. Full championships details are available at
2026 OUA Baseball Championships.
