Box Score The Brock Badgers men's hockey team were unable to capture an opening night victory on the road, falling 3-2 to the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo, Ont., on Friday, Oct. 9.
Despite overpowering the Golden Hawks in the shot department, outshooting them 53-29, the Badgers were unable to overcome a hot Laurier start that saw them take the lead five minutes into the opening period.
After the Golden Hawks doubled their advantage to begin the second frame, the Badgers benefited from some good fortune, as a
Ryan Henderson shot from beyond the blue line bounced in off the boards to cut the lead in half. However, Laurier were able to restore their two-goal lead before the end of the period.
Despite 29 shots throughout the third period, and 14 penalty minutes between the two teams, the Badgers were only able to muster a goal from powerplay goal from
Eric Barnard.

Will Hambley made 26 saves throughout the contest.
