In a Saturday matchup, the Brock Badgers took home a 72-64 victory against the Ottawa Gee-Gees at Montpetit Hall in Ottawa. Addy James stuffed the stat sheet, tallying 14 points along with five rebounds, four assists and two steals with help from Madalyn Weinert's 25 points, 16 rebounds, two assists and four steals. The Badgers came out hot, scoring 27 points in the first quarter, giving them a 10-point lead to wrap up the first frame at 27-17. The second quarter became much more competitive with Brock struggling heavily from the field, shooting 35.3 per cent. This was still enough to hold a 10-point advantage heading into halftime at 42-32. Brock and their shooting struggles worsened throughout the third with 23.8 per cent shooting from the field, yet their strong defence held Ottawa to under 10 points in the quarter as they held a 54-40 lead. The Badgers closed this one out with a strong fourth quarter, rebounding from the past two frames with 18 points on 46.2 per cent shooting. Brock's three-point shooting remained reliable, going 7-for-20 from beyond the arc, while their 17 second-chance points to just two from the hosts helped the Badgers maintain their early lead throughout the game.

In a Saturday night trip to Montpetit Hall in Ottawa, the Brock Badgers men's basketball team fell 90-62 to the No. 8 nationally ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees. Andrew McKenna led the way with a team-high 13 points and six rebounds, while Nemanja Sarkanovic provided a spark off the bench, contributing 13 points himself. A back-and-forth first quarter in which both teams connected three times from beyond the arc ended with the Gee-Gees taking a 21-15 lead into the second frame. The hosts extended their advantage throughout the second quarter, entering halftime with a 48-35 lead. Ottawa put the game out of reach over the course of the third frame as they converted seven three-pointers on 53.8 per cent shooting to enter the final 10 minutes with a commanding 80-47 scoreline. While Brock chipped away throughout the final quarter, they were unable to overcome the deficit as Ottawa closed out a comfortable victory. On Friday evening's Senior Game, the Badgers closed out their final home game of the season and kept their playoff hopes alive with a commanding 5-1 win over the Waterloo Warriors at Canada Games Park. York continued his hot stretch to end the season, registering two goals and an assist to push his point tally to eight over his last five games. Nathan Fox and seniors Jordan Stock and Stepien each added a goal of their own to close out the contest. Despite mounting pressure throughout the first period in which the Badgers outshot the visitors 14-3, they found themselves trailing 1-0 after the Warriors converted a penalty shot late in the frame. York struck twice during the second period, giving Brock a lead they did not relinquish down the stretch. Fox and Stock provided some breathing room, opening the frame with quick scores to give the Badgers a 4-1 lead, while Stepien topped off the performance by adding Brock's fifth goal of the night with a swift breakaway finish. The Badgers showed a great degree of discipline to combat a chippy Warriors performance, recording 18 penalty minutes compared to Waterloo's 36 while also providing more pressure during the game, outshooting their opponents 38 to 22.

Up next, the Badgers begin a two-game road trip in Toronto to close out the year as they look to secure their playoff spot. Brock opens the weekend against the TMU Bold on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:15 p.m., before matching up with the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.
