The Brock Badgers men's soccer team have notched their first victory of the season.
Â
Battling the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo, Ont., on Friday, Sept. 18,
Leart Nura and Tiago Periera both opened their accounts for the season, helping to propel the Badgers past their opposition.
Â
After Laurier opened the scoring in the 31st minute, the Badgers countered with an immediate response as Nura tucked home an unassisted equalizer just two minutes later, following up on the assist he recorded in the Badgers' last match.
Â
The game remained level for much of the second half, before fifth-year defender
Tiago Pereira netted the game-winner in the 80
th minute.
Â
The Badgers showed impressive resilience throughout the night, outshooting the Golden Hawks 12-4 to earn a hard-earned victory away from home.
Â
The Badgers will look to carry this momentum into their second game of the weekend, as they travel back home to clash with the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3:15 p.m. The game can be seen onÂ
