Heeley shines as Badgers keep clean sheet on the road

Maddy Heeley and the Brock Badgers women's soccer team continued their undefeated start to the season.
 
The goalkeeper was instrumental in securing a point on the road against the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday, Sept. 18 in Waterloo, Ont. The veteran's nine saves throughout the match helped ensure that the Badgers continued their undefeated start to the season.
 
The hosts outshot the Badgers 6-2 throughout the first half, with Heeley stopping all four Laurier shots on goal.
 
The Golden Hawks placed similar pressure on the Badgers defensive line across the second half, with Heeley making another five saves in the second half.
 
Brock's fourth clean sheet of the season continues a string of strong defensive performances that have helped them continuously frustrate opposing attacks.
 
Up next, the Badgers will finish off the weekend with a home battle against the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. as they look to claim their second victory of the season against their opponents. The game can be seen on OUA.tv.
