In their Jorts & Jerseys themed matchup with the Algoma Thunderbirds, the Brock Badgers men's soccer team secured a commanding 3-0 victory under the Alumni Field lights on Friday, Sept. 25.
Â
The Badgers broke the deadlock midway through the first half, with defender
Tiago Pereira netting an unassisted opening goal.
Â
The veteran Pereira was then fouled in the penalty area, allowing captain
Conrad Czarnecki to convert from the penalty spot to give the Badgers a two-goal lead entering the halftime break.
Â
Michael Pais added an insurance goal in 56th minute, heading home Brock's third of the game to secure the Badgers first home win of the season.
Â
The Badgers dictated the pace of play all evening, outshooting the Thunderbirds 17-5 in the victory.
Â
Up next, the Badgers will hit the road, visiting the Guelph Gryphons looking to secure their second victory of the weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27 at 3:15 p.m.
