The Brock Badgers men's soccer team marched into Guelph to claim a spirited road victory.
Â
Fifth-year defender
Tiago Pereira provided the jolt the Badgers needed, netting twice in a 3-2 victory on Sunday, Sept. 27, including the game-winning goal.
Â
The Badgers got out the gates hot with
Leart Nura continuing his clinical recent goal-scoring form. The forward's opener, off an assist from
Noah Ryan, is his third goal in his last four games.
Â
Brock doubled their advantage in the 41st minute, with Pereira finishing off another assist from Ryan to give the Badgers a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime.
Â
Guelph did not take long to respond out of the break, pulling a goal back within the first minute of second half, before eventually equalizing in the 82nd minute.
Â
With the match looking to be headed for a draw, veteran Pereira delivered in the clutch, finding the back of the net in the 87th minute to restore Brock's lead and complete his brace.
Â
The late strike secured a dramatic 3-2 win for the Badgers, marking their second consecutive victory.
Â
The Badgers will look to make it three wins in a row as they host the Western Mustangs at Alumni Field on Friday, Oct. 5 at 8:15 p.m. The game can be seen on
