Box Score MONTREAL - The Brock University men's hockey team (5-6-2 OUA West) lost to the Concordia Stingers by the score of 9-2 Friday night on the road.
Concordia scored four times in the opening period on Brock starter
Dalton McGrath (Toronto, Ont.). The Stingers leading scorer Olivier Hinse would add his 11th and 12th goals of the season, while Kyle Armstrong and George Lovatsis added singles.
Early in the second period, the Badgers
Dylan MacEachern (Mississauga, Ont.) would add a shorthanded marker beating Concordia starter Antonio Mastropietro to cut the lead to three. The Stingers would answer right back as Lovatsis would collect his second goal of the game making it a four goal deficit for Brock.
Daniel Zweep (Richmond Hill, Ont.) would register his second goal as a Badger with just over three minute remaining in the second period. Gabriel Bourret would answer 30 seconds later putting Concordia up 6-2 after 40 minutes.
In the third period it was all Concordia as they added three more goals. Hinse would finish with the natural hat trick while Francis Beauregard and Taylor Lambke rounded out the Stingers scoring.
In goal, McGrath allowed nine goals on 38 shots, the most allowed in his first two seasons. Mastropietro recorded 23 saves for the victory.
The Badgers return to action Saturday afternoon at 2pm when they take on the UQTR Patriotes at Le Colisee.
