AYLES MOVES INTO TIE FOR 5th ALL-TIME IN CAREER VICTORIES

Justin Ayles recorded his 14th victory of his Badgers career Wednesday in the OUA season opener versus the Toronto Varsity Blues. With the win, Ayles moved into a tie for 5th all-time with Brock Baseball Hall of Famers Stefan Strecker (1998-03) and Greg Arbour (1998-00) who both registered 14 career victories. He now closes in on Chris Ebel (1995-97) who is 4th all-time with 15 career wins.
STEER CONTINUES TO SWING HOT BATÂ

Phil Steer has been a nice addition to the Badgers lineup for 2013. In the preseason he batted .400 going 6-for-15 with 11 runs scored and five stolen bases. In the 2013 OUA season opener Wednesday, Steer went 3-for-4 with two runs scored raising his season average to .474 (9-for-19).
FERRI EXTENDS HIT STREAK TO FIVE GAMES
Junior centerfielder
Ricky Ferri extended his hit streak to five games to open the 2013 OUA regular season. In the Badgers 11-9 victory over Toronto, Ferri went 2-for-6 with two RBI. Ferri currently leads the Badgers offense early in the season with a .556 average going 10-for-18 with nine RBI and three stolen bases.Â
BADGERS OFFENSE AVERAGING 10+ RUNS PER CONTEST
The Badgers continued right from where they left off in the preseason erupting for 11 runs in the OUA regular season opener against the defending OUA Champion Toronto Varsity Blues. In their six preseason contests Brock registered 60 runs (10 runs per game) to the opponents 21 (3.5 runs per game).Â
THREE OTHER NEWCOMERS MAKING AN IMPACT AT THE PLATE
Three new faces in the Brock Badgers lineup are making their marks in 2013.Â
James Roffey is batting .429 (6-for-14) with five RBI and three runs scored.
Justin Gideon is hitting .364 (4-for-11) with five runs and three RBI and
Dan Nicoletta has collected five hits going 5-for-20 (.250) with five RBI and two stolen bases.
PROGRAM SUCCESS - CLOSING IN ON 450 VICTORIES
In the Badgers 19-year history, they have captured two National Championships (1998, 1999), three OUA Championships (2002, 2004, 2010) and two CIBA Ontario West Titles (1996, 2000). Â Brock has posted a 437-221-5 (.662 winning %) Â averaging almost 24 wins a season. They are now just 13 program victories shy of 450.
