
LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University baseball team captured a silver medal at the 2015 OUA Championships losing 9-4 to the host Western Mustangs in the gold medal game Tuesday night at Labatt Park.
In the first game of the day, Brock ace
Dylan Perego (Waterdown, Ont.) went the distance allowing two runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts, as the Badgers defeated Western by the score of 10-2 to advance to the OUA Championship game.
Leading the Brock offense was senior captain
Ricky Ferri (St. Catharines, Ont.) who
went 3-for-4. Quinton Twohey (London, Ont.) (2-for-, 2 RBI), Phil Steer (Toronto, Ont.) (2-for-3, RBI) and Jordan Grant (Mississauga, Ont.) (2-for-4, 2B) all chipped in with two hits each. Adding single hits were Ben Kirby (Burlington, Ont.) and Rob Byckowski (Milton, Ont.).In the gold medal game, Western jumped out to a 6-0 lead and road the back of starting ptcher Owen Boon who was named OUA Championship MVP.
Ferri ended his five year career with a 4-for-6 performance with an RBI. On his final day, he batted .700 going 7-for-10. Adding single hits were Steer (1-for-5, RBI),

Dennon Koziol (Hamilton, Ont.) 1-for-3, RBI),
Noah Koffman (1-for-1) Kirby (1-for-2) and Twohey (1-for-5).
Jeff Baggaley (Whitby, Ont.) suffered the loss allowing three runs (all unearned) on three hits over two innings of work.
The Badgers finish the 2015 season with a 28-7 overall record.
