
AJAX, ON - The Brock University baseball team dropped a 12-3 decision to the defending OUA Champion Western Mustangs in Game Two of the 2016 OUA Baseball Championships.
Brock took an early 3-1 lead after 6 1/2 innings but it was the strong Mustangs offense rallying with 11 runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings on route to the 12-3 victory and a 2-0 record.
With the loss, Brock is now 1-1 and will have to run the table in order to bring home the OUA title.
Jaiden Hill (Whitby, ON) led the Badgers with a two-run double going 1-for-4. Other hits went to
Matthew Legg (Vancouver, BC) and
Justin Gideon (Pickering, ON).
Matt Bowden went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI to lead the Mustangs offense. Nolan Anderson, Hayden Woodley and Andrew Warner all chipped in with two hits each in the win.

Alex Nolan (Burlington, ON) suffered the loss allowing five runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and three walks over five innings. Former Badger,
Ryan Beckett picked up the win for Western after going 8 1/3 innings allowing three runs on three hits while walking seven and striking out nine. Â
The Badgers will play their third game Saturday afternoon at the Pan-Am Baseball Complex in Ajax.
