
ST. CATHARINES, ON - The Brock University baseball team swept the season series against the Ryerson Rams Saturday afternoon at George Taylor Field to improve to 12-4 on the season.
The Badgers won a close Game One 7-5 and had a strong performance taking Game Two 11-1.
In Game One, the Badgers got off to a shaky start allowing the Rams to score five straight runs through three innings to go up 5-0.
Brock would answer in the fourth inning scoring two runs off of an RBI Triple by
Justin Gideon (Pickering, ON) and an RBI single by
Noah Koffman (Richmond Hill, ON) to make it 5-2.
The Badgers added another two runs in the fifth inning off of a home run from
Jaiden Hill (Whitby, ON), his first of the season. Through five innings the score was 5-4.
Brock completed the comeback and scored three more runs in the sixth inning and would hold on to win the game 7-5.

Rhys Tapper (Ancaster, ON) pitched six innings allowing five runs off eight hits, with five strikeouts and three walks for the win.
Jake Near (Stratford, ON) closed the game allowing two hits with one strikeout.
In Game Two the Badgers played much better scoring ten runs through three innings to go up 10-1.
Dawson Veeneman (Delta, BC) had a big game for the Badgers hitting a three run homer in the second inning to kick off the scoring.
The Badgers added another run in the fifth inning to make the final score 11-1.
Brock used four pitchers in the game with
Matthew Balkwill (Chatham, ON) getting the win, pitching two innings allowing two hits with three strikeouts.
The Badgers close out the OUA regular season on the road Sunday against the McMaster Marauders. Brock has qualified for the OUA Championships next weekend in Ajax at the Pan Am Games Complex.
