GUELPH, ON - The No. 6 ranked Brock University men's basketball team rolled past the Guelph Gryphons by the score of 89-62 Saturday night on the road.
The Badgers trailed 17-15 after the opening quarter and led 39-31 at the half. Brock held an 11-point lead after 30 minutes,, before putting together a 14-2 run to open the fourth quarter, on route to their 10th conference victory.
Brock had three players in double digits led by
Dani Elgadi (Waterloo, ON) who contributed with 20 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Cassidy Ryan (Mississauga, ON) added 19 points off the bench going 8-for-11 from the field while
Daniel Cayer (Montreal, QC) chipped in with 12 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Leading Guelph was Jonathan Wallace who recorded 16 points. Ahmed Haroon chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
The Badgers shot 57.1% (36-63) from the field, 40.0% (4-10) from beyond the arc and 65.0% (13-20) from the charity stripe. Guelph went 20-60 (33.3%) from the floor, including 9-21 (42.9%) from long range and 13-17 (76.5%) from the free throw line.
The Badgers take on Waterloo Warriors this Wednesday, February 1st in the Bob Davis Gymnasium at 8pm.
