The Brock University women's basketball team dropped a 55-46 decision to the York Lions Friday night at the Tait Mckenzie Centre.
The Badgers trailed 25-23 at the half and were down 31-39 at the end of three quarters. In the fourth, York put together a 14-7 run ad the Badgers dropped to 2-1 in the season.
Leading the Badgers was Bailie Campbell who recorded a season high 20 points.
Kristin Gallant added seven points off the bench, while Courtney McPherson,
Stephanie Findlay and
Ana Caldeira Rua all chipped in with five points each. McPherson also pulled down 12 boards in the loss.
York was led by Lindsay Shotbolt who led all scorers with a game high 23 points and seven rebounds.
For the game, Brock shot 33.3% (18-for-54) from the field, 12.5% (1-for-8) from beyond the arc and 60.0% (9-for-15) from the free throw line. York went 22-for-69 (33.3%) from the floor, 1-for-8 (12.5%) from three point range and 10-for-13 (76.9) from the charity stripe.
The Badgers are on the road Saturday night when they take on the Queens Gaels in Kingston.
