The Brock University women's basketball team dropped a 61-40 decision to the No 4 ranked Carleton Ravens Saturday night at the Meridian Centre.
Brock held a 12-10 lead after the opening quarter. In the second quarter, Brock led 16-15 with eight minutes remaining, before the Ravens put together a 14-2 run as they led 32-18 at the half.
Leading the Brock scoring was
Kristin Gallant the finished with nine points, five rebounds and five steals.
Baelie Campbell collected eight points while
Courtney Mcpherson and
Ana Caldeira Rua chipped in with seven points each and the loss. Mcpherson also pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.
Carleton had two players in double figures led by Catherine Traer who finished with 15 points and seven rebounds and Heather Lindsay who added 10 points and 15 rebounds for the double-double.
For the game, Brock shot 23.7% (14-59) from the field, 11.1% (1–9) from behind the arc and 63.2% (12-19) from the free-throw line. The Ravens went 20-74 (27.0%) from the floor 3-19 (15.8%) from long range and 17-24 (70.8%) from the charity stripe.
