KINGSTON, ON - Brock University women's hockey player
Annie Berg (Beamsville, ON) was named to the 2016-17 U SPORTS All-Rookie Team Wednesday night at the All-Canadian awards dinner.
Freshman forward
Annie Berg took the league by storm in her first season being named the 2016-17 OUA Rookie of the Year and an all-rookie team selection. Appearing in all 24 regular season games for Brock, Berg finished seventh in scoring with 23 points. She recorded six multi-point games in her first season in the conference and never went more than two games without registering a point.
" It is great to see Annie get recognized with such an honour at the national level," said head coach
Margot Page. "She is such a driven person. She puts in a lot of extra time with added workouts and video sessions to ensure she is her best out there. Annie has shown she has the ability to be a difference maker on the ice. This is not just with her skill set but by making those around her better."
In 2016, Berg was a member of Team Canada U18 that won silver at the IIHF Ice Hockey Under-18 Women's World Championship.
