Brock University women's hockey alumni Jessica Fickel was inducted into the Fort Erie Sports Hall of Fame,

She worked hard throughout her university career and was committed to excellence both on the ice and in the classroom. She led by example and was a great teammate. She inspired others to be the best they could and was always willing to learn and achieve success.

The Fort Erie native, made an immediate impact with the Brock women's hockey program and went on to become the all-time leading scorer in the program's history. She also became the first female athlete at Brock to have her jersey No. 9 retired by the school on January 18, 2015.

From 2010-15, she played in 120 career games registering 52 goals and 63 assists for 115 career points. She was a three-time OUA All-Star, Brock Rookie of the Year and four-time team MVP. Fickel was also named the Brock Female Athlete of the Year in 2014-15.

Academically, Fickel was a three-time CIS Academic All-Canadian.

In the community, she was always visible taking part in many Brock Athletics and women's hockey events.

In her final season, she wore the red and white having the opportunity to represent Canada at the 2015 Winter Universiade held in Granada, Spain where she led Team Canada to a silver medal.

She is currently finishing her Master's Degree at Brock University and I am positive she will do many great things in her career.
