The Brock University baseball team split their doubleheader Saturday afternoon with the Waterloo Warriors. Waterloo took Game One by the score of 4-3 and the Badgers won Game Two 13-10.

The Badgers collected six hits in Game One with Tyler Nakamura, Justin Gideon, Nicholas Spillman, Jaiden Hill, Noah Koffman, and Dawson Veeneman all adding one hit each.

Brock starter Chase Porter went seven complete innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out eight. Bryson McLean went just 2/3 innings giving up three runs on one hot while walking three. Nathan Laird allowed one run on one hit in the loss. Waterloo's Stephen Gade went nine complete innings for the victory.

In Game Two, the Badgers offense exploded for 14 hits and took an 11-0 lead after four innings. Waterloo answered with 11 runs of their own as they chipped away at the Brock lead and tying it in the bottom of the sixth. Brock would add two in the top of the 7th for their third win of the regular season.

Offensively, Matt Legg went 4-for-5 with a career best five RBI including a grand slam. Noah Koffman also went 4-for-5 while driving in one and scoring three times. Adding other Brock hits were Spillman, Nathan Laird, Hill and Nakamura, Josh Wray and Veeneman.

Brock starter Jake Near went 5 2/3 innings allowing seven runs on six hits while waling three. Spencer Bak allowed three runs in his one inning of work while strking out two. Jacob Ebbs went just 1/3 innings allowing one run on one hit with a strikeout. Crafty Southpaw Ryan Bench closed out the game throwing 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball for the save.
