Box Score The Brock women's basketball team lost to the No. 6 Carleton Ravens to begin their road trip to the nation's capital on Friday.
The Badgers lost 72-43 to a defence-heavy Ravens squad.
Melissa Tatti led all players in scoring and steals on the night as she finished with 22 points, four rebounds, four assists, eight steals and a block during 40 minutes of court time.
"We needed to bring better effort, the intensity in the second half picked up a bit and we tried to do a better job committing to inside the paint," said head coach Mike Rao. "The lack of consistent scoring from everyone derailed much of our effort."
Kristin Gallant tallied six points and four rebounds and Baelie Campbell also finished with six points of her own.
Bouncing back from a slow first quarter, the Brock women got their offence going in the second and pulled the deficit back to 32-16. Shuffling through different lineups, Brock gave several players minutes throughout the first half with many contributors to the Badgers total.
With Carleton continuing to push on all ends of the court, The Badgers' relied on key steals and defensive rebounds. With help containing Carleton's pressure from key defensive pieces in Allie Columbus and Miia Sorra, Brock went into the final frame trailing 49-21.
The Badgers played their strongest in the fourth quarter and scored 22 points as they clawed away at the Ravens' lead.
Brock will look to rebound against the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday, Nov. 24.
