ST CATHARINES - In the final weekend of the regular season, the Brock Badgers baseball team earned a sweep of the visiting York Lions before dropping two versus the first place Guelph Gryphons on the road.

GAME 1: Brock 3 York 2
The highlight for the Badgers came courtesy the bat of
Reid Lunney, who delivered in the clutch with a walk off hit to secure a tightly contested 3-2 win over the Lions. Lunney,
Ashton Feijo, and
Peter Valla all recorded two hits in the one run game, while six pitchers were used by the Badgers to secure the win.
GAME 2: Brock 5 York 1
Led by the outstanding pitching of starter Dan Howat and reliever
Hayden Stam, the Badgers were able to hold the Lions in check. Howat went three solid innings with five strikeouts, while allowing just one hit and one walk. Stam followed that with 3.1 innings of work conceding one earned run while striking out four.
Bryn Sanford was the catalyst for a four run sixth inning for Brock registering a two RBI double.

GAME 1: Guelph 17 Brock 14
Getting into a hitting race with the first place Gryphons, Feijo and Howat were highlights at the plate for Brock in the high scoring contest. Feijo finished 3-for-6 including a triple, scoring three RBI and three runs. Meanwhile, the Badgers standout pitcher Howat delivered at the plate going 2-for-5 with a walk, two RBI, and two runs. Six Badgers in total recorded an RBI in the Sunday opener.
GAME 2: Guelph 10 Brock 0
Brock appeared to run out of steam as the weekend came to a close with a difficult shut out loss. Lunney and
Tyler Giancos were the lone Badgers to record a hit in the six inning contest, while Sanford was able to draw two walks. However, Brock was unable to put together a string of batters leaving the trio of baserunners on base.
Following the conclusion of regular season play the Badgers will head to Guelph to compete in an OUA Regional Playoff this coming Saturday and Sunday. The winner of the regional event when then qualify for the OUA Championship scheduled for the next weekend.
