VANCOUVER - The Brock Badgers men's swimming team saw breaststroke specialist
Anthonie Korstanje compete at the 2023 U SPORTS National Championships in Vancouver this past weekend.
The veteran fifth-year swimmer earned his place at the national showcase after swimming qualifying times during the Badgers seasonal events, setting him up to compete at the U SPORTS showcase in the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke, along with the 200m individual medley.
Korstanje's best result came on the final day of competition in the 200m breaststroke where he just missed out on a finals appearance placing 25th out of 43 swimmers posting a time of 2:18.01.
Rounding out his results, Korstanje placed 29th in the 100m breaststroke (1:03.35), 37th in the 200m individual medley (2:11.31), and finished 43rd in the 50m breaststroke (29.72).
The U SPORTS National Championships mark the final event of the Badgers competitive calendar as they will now look to the 2023-24 season and continued success going forward.
