Brock men’s golf team places ninth at provincial championship

The Brock Badgers men's golf team competed against Ontario's best over the weekend in Windsor. 

After multiple first-place showings during the season, the Badgers settled for a ninth-place finish at the 2024 edition of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Men's Golf Championship that took place at the Ambassador Golf Club from Saturday, Oct. 5. to Sunday, Oct. 6.  

"The men's team had our greatest season, winning two separate invitationals and podium finishes in two others." said head coach Travis Glass. "It was a tough way to finish the season but we will be back next year to prove the Brock golf is team is here to stay."

The Badgers shot a total of 483, improving on their Day 1 score of 248 to finish with 235 on Day 2. 

Making his OUA championship debut for the Badgers was Sean Fraser. Fraser tied for 18th with Cohen Belore of the Guelph Gryphons and Andrew Pillon of the Windsor Lancers with a combined two-day score of 148 (+6). 

Finishing three strokes behind was Liam McKeiver with a 151 (+9) who tied with Zach Burt (Waterloo Warriors), William Dodd (Guelph Gryphons), Cedric Hughes (Ottawa Gee-Gees), and Joshua Marcotte (Carleton Ravens). 

Jaxon Kearns made his OUA Championship debut and placed one stroke behind McKeiver with a 152 (+10); good for 31st place. He shared that placement with six other golfers. 

Placing tied for 38th, Robbie Pemberton delivered a 153 (+11) to finish alongside Michael Berlingieri of the Windsor Lancers and Will Tyldesley  of the Western Mustangs.

Morgan Daly was the last Brock participant at the championship, shooting a 156 (+14).
