Men’s curling competes at Guelph Invitational

Brock finished off strong in its first invitational of the season.

The Brock Badgers men's curling team placed seventh in the Guelph Invitational that took place between Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10 in Guelph.

In their first match on Saturday, the Badgers pulled off a close 7-6 over the Toronto Varsity Blues in a contest that needed an extra end to find a winner.

Following up on their Game 1 win, Brock cruised to an 8-3 win against Ontario Tech in its second contest of the day.

A 6-3 loss to the York Lions rounded out the Brock Badgers' Saturday matches, as a late surge from the Lions was enough to take the win.

On Sunday morning, the Badgers fell 8-2 to the McMaster Marauders which seeded Brock into the D Varsity Final.

The varsity final ended in a victory for the Brock Badgers with two points each in the fifth and sixth ends lifting them over the Trent Excalibur in a 7-4 win.

Next, the Brock Badgers men's curling team will head to Peterborough to compete in the Trent Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 23.
