For the third consecutive year, the Badgers men's rowing team have finished second in the nation. 

Brock sent six different men's boats to compete at the 2024 Canadian University Rowing Championships (CURC) at Elk Lake in Victoria, BC from Saturday, Nov. 2 to Sunday, Nov. 3. 

The Badgers finished second overall with 107 points; narrowly missing out on first place to the UBC Thunderbirds who had 113. Brock's medal haul included two gold medals, two silvers and one bronze. 

Stephen Harris continued to add to his decorated trophy case at Brock with his third consecutive CURC Male Athlete of the Year award. 

In the men's lightweight single event, Harris, a fifth year from Guelph, captured gold as he bested the Victoria Vikes and UBC Thunderbirds boats in a time of six minutes, 53 seconds and 71 milliseconds. 

Earlier in the day, Connor Dodds and Charles-Etienne Tabet earned the first gold medal for the Badgers in the men's lightweight double, crossing the finish line in a time of 6.09.64 to squeak by the UBC Thunderbirds who came in 1.25 seconds later. 

Dodds, Archer LaRochelle, Riley Watson, Tabet and coxswain Serafina Dell (6:16.86) finished 81 milliseconds away from a gold medal as they trailed the Queen's Gaels (6:16.05) in a thrilling finish in the men's lightweight four. 

In the men's single, Michael Ciepiela also placed second with a time of 7:03.47. 

The last race for the Badgers saw them earn their lone bronze medal as the team of Maddox Harrison, Ciepiela, Harris, Keithan Woodhouse, Watson, Euan Coulson, Ian Doctor, Christopher Gomez, and Dell (coxswain) crossed the finish in 5:36.49 in the men's eight event.
