The Brock Badgers men's track and field team competed at the York Holiday Open on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the Toronto Track and Field Centre.
In the pole vault, Michael Ivanov finished first among all contestants, leaping to the top recorded height of 4.75-metres. Ivanov matched his 4.75m showing last year at the U SPORTS Championships where he captured bronze. Currently, he is ranked No. 1 in the country.
Turning towards the long jump, Morris Agyeman placed fourth in the event with a successful attempt of 6.06m.
Heading out onto the track, Jason Friesen placed sixth in the 60m dash with a time of seven seconds and 23 milliseconds, while Adam Dampier came in with a second-place finish in the men's 600m event after crossing the finish line in 1 minute, 25 seconds and 25 milliseconds.
In the 1500m race, Christian Ligtenberg took the top spot, running a time of 3:59.78, landing him eighth in the men's 1500m U SPORTS rankings.
Jack Sayewich bested four other teammates to place first in the 1000m race with a time of 2:41.75.
This event marked the first for new Brock track and field head coach Jonathan Younker.
