The Brock Badgers men's track and field team competed in their final tune up before their big provincial competition.
Both Keshawn Igbinosun and Michael Ivanov placed first at the 2025 Windsor Team Challenge from Friday, Feb. 7 to Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse in Windsor.
As a team the Badgers placed sixth out of 13 competing clubs. The Western Mustangs took first with 94 points while the host Windsor Lancers got second (85) and the Guelph Gryphons earned third (50).
Igbinosun recorded his third gold medal of the season in a very competitive 21-person field in the 600-metre event. His time of one minute, 21 seconds and 13 milliseconds bested all challengers.
He then followed it up with a fourth-place showing in the 300m (34.97).
Continuing his solid season, Michael Ivanov won the pole vault for an impressive sixth time. HIs successful attempt of 4.85m gave him the victory.
The men's 4x400m relay team placed fourth with a time of 3:31.21.
Christian Ligtenberg (2:31.70) and Garrett Wager (2:32.04) finished 10th and 11, respectively in the 1000m race.
Up next, the Badgers will return to Windsor for the 2025 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Championships taking place at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse from Friday, Feb. 21 to Saturday Feb. 22.
