Michael Ivanov and Keshawn Igbinosun led the Badgers' results at the 2025 Sharon Anderson Meet. 

Both athletes finished first as the Brock men's track and field team competed against other schools and clubs at the Bruce Kidd Field House in Toronto on Saturday, Jan. 4.  

In the pole vault, Ivanov came first for the second consecutive competition. This time around, he made a successful attempt of 4.5-metres to best all challengers. He also placed third in the long jump event with a jump of 6.41m.  

Igbinosun won his first gold medal of the year, finishing in a time of one minute, 21 seconds and 63 milliseconds in the 600m. The Teacher Education major reigned victorious over 29 other runners in an impressive showing, and he bested the previous Brock record of 1:21.51 set by Cam Giles in 2013.

The Badgers earned two more top-three finishes on the track courtesy of Christian Ligtenberg and Colton Spencer. Ligtenberg crossed the finish line in 2:31.40 to set a Brock record and earned third at the 1000m race while Spencer placed third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.32. 

In the 1 mile run, Isaac Iannarelli took home fourth place (4:29.00) to round out Brock's top finishes of the meet.

The 4x400m relay team came in fourth (1:36.31) just behind the York Lions (1:35.92).

Looking forward, the Badgers will compete at the Can-Am Classic which takes place on Friday, Jan. 10 and Saturday, Jan. 10 in Windsor.
